MAX - ID#Axxxx94 Hi! My name is MAX. I am a neutered male, brown and white Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old. I have been at the shelter since Jan 18, xxxx. My previous owner had a stroke and could no loner care for me. I have a lot of volunteer friends who love to take me for long walks because I walk so nicely on a leash. Riding in cars is another favorite pastime. I am big and strong so will need an owner that can handle me. I love playing ball. I am house trained. I came to the shelter not knowing any commands but now I know sit, down, eye contact, leave it and heal. So obviously I am pretty smart. You can put a treat on my paw and I will not touch it until you tell me it is OK. I am a BIG cuddle bug! I try to get in my handler's lap but don't realize that I am so big. It is strongly recommended that all members of your household and any dogs you have at home be brought in to socialize with the dog you wish to adopt in our play yard. You must be able to verify with your landlord that you may have a pet if you are renting. We reserve the right to deny the adoption of any pet for any reason. Also any additional requirements for the specific pet you are interested in adopting need to be met. We adopt to the best home, not necessarily the first application turned in. Applications are only accepted by FAX (949-366-xxxx), mail or in person. Sorry, no applications through the Internet. The adoption fee for dogs is $125, which covers the following: spay or neuter, microchip, current shots, flea treatment if required, "New Owner" folder packed with helpful information, and one free basic health examination within 5 days of adoption from a veterinarian on our list.
